Lagoon
Near the wreckage of the ship thrown out by the waves - three young men escaped They are found in Greek girls. Medora especially likes one of them - Conrad. He talks about himself, about his friends Ali and Birbanto. It is recognized that they are sea pirates, corsairs.
The girls report the approach of a detachment of Turkish soldiers. Medora and Gulnara hide the corsairs, but they themselves are captured.
The slave trader Isaac Lankedem, who tracked down the girls and led the squad, is pleased. He generously pays the officer.
The corsairs are not able to help the Greek women now, but they swear to save them.

Picture Three
Market
Lankedem shows merchants who gathered in the market. In the place of honor sits Seid Pasha, who wants to get into the harem of new beauties. His attention is drawn to Gulnara, and he buys her.
The slaver shows Medora. She is so good that Seid Pasha is ready to buy it for any price. At this time, a notable merchant is leaving the ship. Medora recognizes him as Conrad. By giving the girl a sign of not issuing it, the "merchant" begins to bargain, assigning an unheard of high price. Seid Pasha is amazed and invites the rich stranger to call himself. The “merchant” and his retinue throw off elegant clothes and armed corsairs appear before the astonished Seyid Pasha and the merchants. They kidnap Medora, slaves, take Lankedem with them and leave for the sea. Turkish guards can no longer stop them. Seid Pasha is furious.

Second act

The corsairs are satisfied with the rich booty captured from the merchants. In honor of the rescued beauties they arrange a holiday. Girls admire the dances of corsairs. Medora, responding to a request from Conrad, dances with him and his friend Ali. The corsairs are fascinated by the beauty of the chosen one of the leader.
The girls ask Medora to persuade Conrad to let them go home. Conrad agrees, but Birbanto and other corsairs are protesting with him. They demand to leave the girls on the island. Quarrel begins. Conrad still insists on his. Together with Medora they leave to carry the girls ashore.
Lankedem creeps up to the corsairs. In exchange for his freedom, he offers to help revenge on Conrad. The corsairs agree, and Lanquedem gives them a sleeping pill. Delighted by Birbanto, he sprinkles flowers on the potion and tells Lankedem to give the bouquet to Conrad. Sly Lankedem gives the flowers to Medor, and the girl gives them to Conrad in gratitude for saving her friends.
Konrad falls asleep, the corsairs kidnap Medora.
Waking up, Konrad discovers the disappearance of his beloved, he vows to find and release her.

Third action

Harem Seyid Pasha
Seid Pasha admires the beauty of Gulnara. The new slaves offered by Lankedem do not like him. Then the slaver introduces Medora into the beautiful “lively garden” that the girls form. Pasha is delighted. He buys her.
Under the guise of pilgrims in the palace appear corsairs. Pasha invites "pilgrims" to the evening prayer, in one of them Medora recognizes Conrad. Seizing the moment, the corsairs free the girls.
